Continuing my Thankfulness series….
Today, I’m thankful for tenderness…. the soft thing between siblings that softens my heart daily… the glimpses of heaven on earth.
Today, I’m thankful for praise …. the overwhelming urge to sing in the forest….
to lift my voice with the fluttering birds in thankfulness to our Maker.
Give praise with psalms that tell the trees to sing,
Give praise with Gospel choirs in storefront churches,
Mad with the joy of the Sabbath,
Give praise with the babble of infants, who wake with the sun,
Give praise with children chanting their skip-rope rhymes,
A poetry not in books, a vagrant mischievous poetry
living wild on the Streets through generations of children. (Anne Porter)
Today, I’m thankful for……. the wonders of nature….. wild and cultivated…. the great canvas of childhood wonderment and glee.
Today, I’m thankful for….. exuberant joy ….. the unknown-yet-soon-to-be-discovered-around-the-corner-joy.
Yahoo!!!!! Wait for me!!!!!
Today, I’m thankful for……. peace and solitude….. even if only for the moment….. the knowing of being small in a large, large world.
Today, I’m thankful for friends….. friends to share the journey through this wonderful world….. friends to laugh with and cry with.
Finally….. today, I am thankful for these four….. my treasures….. my life.
What are you thankful for today?
