Short and Sweet

We’ve just returned from camping….. a short and sweet retreat from the busy life…

…a place where I tried to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet

while the little urchins joined other little urchins on their bikes riding like maniacs around the campground….

…a place where my children tried to hurt or maim themselves, and otherwise increase my blood pressure in new creative ways…

…a place where homemade breakfasts were scantily eaten and snacks were begged for 30 mins later….

(hmmmmm……now I know what Randy puts up with every other day when he makes breakfast 😉 )

But really….. this is what I’ll remember the most…. the time spent watching my children doing what they love most….

…without the computer and phone and email and editing photos….

(OK, I did take my cell, but only checked my email once in awhile…. really, what did I do before that silly smart phone?)

I have lots to share… like the black bear, the shiner, the diarrhea, and the monster mosquitoes….

….but I have work to do, so that’ll have to wait.

Off to work…. toodle-loo (well, not really to the loo, but to work)   😉

  • alita - I look forward to hearing about the “like the black bear, the shiner, the diarrhea, and the monster mosquitoes” but I enjoyed reading that my children aren’t the only ones that scantly eat their breakfast.

Love the last shot! Great focus chica.ReplyCancel

  • betina - Though it does make for a nice photo prop, I still can’t believe you rode that bike for that far!!!

This trail is one of my favorite places on earth, but even so, I’ve never taken my camera with me on my bike treks along it. Sadly, riding and Shooting don’t mix for meThanks for the great photos!ReplyCancel

  • Jillsy Girl - that last shot is awesome! connecting with nature is the best way to relax. glad you had a good time!ReplyCancel

  • paula - Welcome home, Wendy! A short stay from the homestead sounds lovely … these shots make your time away seem so … peaceful. I too am anxious to learn about those encounters ….hmmmm, they sound quite intriguing. It sound like little ones make a vacation all the more interesting, no? 🙂ReplyCancel
