On being a wedding photographer…..

Let me just preface this post with a tiny disclaimer…… I am still having a hard time calling myself a wedding photographer.

Weddings are big.  Weddings are not re-doable.  Weddings scare the cr*p out of me.

Maybe that’s why I like them.

There…. now that I’ve said it…. I can continue. 🙂

Also…. one more thing…. I love getting creative with ring shots…..

This is one of my very favorite ring shots…..  clean, simple, geometric….. one supporting the other.

But since all people are not just like me….. (good thing!)

…I try to find other creative ways to capture the same thing….

…..I think it’s analogous to wedding photographers……

….all with unique, individual styles and visions….

…all doing the same thing, but through different eyes….

…. I am still learning this…..

…that just because (insert name of famous wedding photographer here) does a ring shot this way…..

…doesn’t make it the end all of wedding ring shots…..

One of my favorite quotes this summer has been:  “Comparison is the thief of joy.”

Truer words have not been recited over and over again in my head  🙂

My goal — finding the balance that makes me, my family, and my clients full of joy!

(ps…. thanks to Betina, Sue, and an unknown man for helping with the staging of some of these shots)

(pps… which ring shot do you like the best?  I’d love to know!)
