Last weekend…. was great. epic. relaxing. perfect. (insert other phenomenal adjective)
We had planned to go camping at Lake Chelan — where Randy and I spent our honeymoon….
but since we didn’t have a long weekend in which to accomplish this feat, we decided to stay closer to home.
And the kids didn’t mind… as long as camping, smores, and fishing was involved… anywhere was good.
Next summer we’ll have to do Lake Chelan.
We took our bikes, and biked both ways on Boyer trail… not too long for short legs.
Randy even found this little seat at the Thrifty Grandma shop…. got the whole-hearted stamp of approval from Nona. 😉
We are thankful for grandpa’s who send Green Goo…..
bicycle tires + puncture vines = disappointment
bicycle tires + Green Goo + puncture vines = Happiness
100’s of puncture vine thorns have nothing on Green Goo.
I love these little sunflowers and curly acorns….
Almota Elevator overflowing with Palouse gold
Fishing was just OK for the boys… they caught a few little fish…
and boasted most loudly about the fish that stole their worms and got away 😉
They’d be most delighted if someone could I.D. this little bugger for them….
Mom’s fish I.D.ing skills are lacking… whatever it is — it has a huge mouth and lots of spines.
And the best part of all…. no internet, no computers, no cell phones.
(well, OK, I did text a couple of people that I needed to communicate with about upcoming shoots, but NO editing, and NO blogging, and NO Facebook)
Just good solid connections with the family. How refreshing. Happy campers all.
